compounding pharmacy
In a bold move, BAC Medical Ancillary Care (BACMAC) has partnered with Health Plus Rx Services (HPRS), an innovative new compounding pharmacy platform, which we are now marketing to doctors nationwide.
Patient demand for alternative treatment methods has never been higher. Patients read the news like everyone else, and according to CDC statistics:
- 25% of patients on long-term opioid therapy become addicted
- In nearly 50% of accidental opioid overdoses, the patient was taking prescription medication
- Overdose deaths have QUADRUPLED since 2000.
One of the biggest frustrations doctors and patients have with utilizing compounded medications is the high denial rate from insurance providers. That is, until now.

Frequently Asked Questions:
What is an MSO?
A healthcare MSO is an organization owned by a group of investors in conjunction with physicians.
What is the purpose of an MSO?
MSOs generally provide practice management and administrative support services to individual physicians and group practices. One purpose of MSOs is to relieve physicians of non-medical business functions so that they can concentrate on the clinical aspects of their practice.
Because MSOs purchase their services as a group instead of individually, they can generally achieve economies of scale and provide additional cost savings to physicians.
How are MSO’s being used today?
Today MSO’s are being created as vehicles for physicians and their practices to improve revenue streams. MSO’s are considered a non-investment for Physicians because of their full compliance with the 8 Texas State Safe Harbor rules and the creation of a Sub-LLC that doesn’t own a lab or pharmacy. There are several MSO’s today that create too much risk for the physician by not providing the correct legal structure. We’ve evaluated several MSO’s and identified those that have taken the time to provide the right legal structure, best and lowest business expenses, and highest value products and services for the physician.
Why would a Physician choose to be involved in an MSO?
Reimbursements continue to decline, MSO’s provide a focus on improving revenue through the use of ancillary services in a Physicians practice that is already used on a regular basis. Why send patients somewhere else to get services like pre-op blood work or toxicology screening when the Physician can rely on the MSO to find the right lab or pharmacy with the best service and lowest cost and also provide a return for the MSO members.
Reliable and Accurate Results
What is the typical MSO start up cost for a physician?
The Physicians cover typical startup costs for each MSO. There are multiple MSO’s in the market today with start up fees ranging from $1,000/Physician to $31,000/Physician. Most MSO’s are forming with 4-6 Physicians with as many as 10.
What specialties are involved with MSO’s?
• Urology
• Orthopedics
• Podiatry
• Spine
• Chiropractic
• Gynecology
• Primary Care
• Colon rectal
• General Surgery
