Crisalix is the inventor of e-Stetix, the first 3D preview technology for plastic surgery based on physical properties of the body. Crisalix is also the pioneer in plastic surgery that has developed a system for reconstructing the patient's body in 3D from 2D images, as well as the initiator of 3D preview technology based on the patient's body.
Timeline
Spin-off of R & D internationally renowned academic centers such as the Institute of Surgical Technology and Biomechanics (ISTB) of the University of Bern (Switzerland) and Ecole Polytechnique Federale de Lausanne (EPFL - Switzerland), it was initiated after a search that began in 2006 with the support of CO-ME network (Computer Aided and Image Guided Medical Interventions) in Switzerland.
In 2008, Crisalix started collaboration between ISTB, EPFL and the Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery of the Inselspital Bern.
In 2009, the Innovation Promotion Agency (CTI) Switzerland, decided to co-finance Crisalix for its unique technology and for being the pioneer in the field of surgery.
In 2010, a third Crisalix research center is created in Barcelona.

Is e-Stetix another morphing simulation software?
On the contrary. e-Stetix is the first simulator in the world based on physical properties such as elasticity of the skin, the amount of fat and gland, the position and shape of the muscles of the chest, etc. Together and thanks to the integrated effects of gravity in technology, the software simulates the insertion of implants.
Should I make a large initial payment?
Never. The pricing policy is designed in a win-win approach. Crisalix offers you the flexibility that suits your needs. You can, for example, choose to make a single reconstruction and therefore only pay for one. You can also opt for particularly interesting formulas based on your needs and giving you permanent access to the server and to your personal database. All payments are fairly calculated and your use will only depend on your interest in the product.
What are the costs of maintenance, updates and training?
The interface is both easy to use and very intuitive. It can be used as soon as the registration is done. In addition, a virtual guide will follow your every step whenever you need it. Because the solution is available throughout the Internet, there is no need for maintenance. You will also receive all new versions and features of e-Stetix as soon as they have been developed and tested by our research center.
My consultations take place in two (or more) different places. Can I use e-Stetix from all these places?
The Internet platform allows you to use e-Stetix from wherever you are. Simply connect to the Internet, for example through your laptop, and you'll be able to enjoy all your data and the e-Stetix simulator, designed to follow you around wherever you need it.
My office has a limited area, as I have no additional space to install a scanner, calculator or any other additional equipment. What can I do?
e-Stetix works without scanning or additional hardware. It requires only standard pictures of your patients and you will need neither additional place, nor extra material fees. Instead, you can even save space, since much information can now be stored on the server instead of the so far printed documents.
What happens if I decide to stop using e-Stetix? Do I have to pay further?
Never. e-Stetix offers complete freedom when it comes to the number of uses and their frequency. You can decide to stop using the software at any time without any cost of cancellation.
Are my patient’s pictures secure on your server? What about privacy?
All the exchanged information between you and Crisalix are encrypted (the encryption system is the same as for banks). The information found on your account is only accessible through your personal data.
Do I have to pay the simulation if the patient ultimately decides not to undergo the operation?
That depends on you. You can choose to charge your patient’s simulation in all cases - or only in the case where no operation is undertaken - or not to charge her at all. e-Stetix provides you with various tools such as a video presentation that might raise your patient’s interest to the use of e-Stetix. That way, she can decide after seeing the video whether to use the simulator or not. In addition, through frequent use of e-Stetix, the costs are dampened by the increasing number of operations. At last, the surgeons using the e-Stetix technology have seen their number of new patients substantially increase through the word of mouth.
